Our new Master’s Entry to Practice Nursing (MEPN) will prepare non-nurse baccalaureate-prepared individuals to enter the nursing profession as master’s degree graduates.

This unique program provides the opportunity to gain education and experience as a
direct-care provider of nursing in a variety of settings. Graduates will be eligible
to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX).
The MEPN program is a total of 70 credits over 5 consecutive semesters. The MEPN program offers courses through a combination of synchronous face-to-face classes, required clinical experiences in SC Midlands area, and online courses.
Full-time plan of study, on-campus with in-person clinicals required in SC Midlands area.

NOTE: Anyone admitted to the MEPN program must complete Basic Life Support** CPR certification prior to the start of the program.
*All pre-requisites must have been completed in the last 10 years with a C or greater grade. Please check with academic advisor regarding specific courses/timeframe.
** One of the following is required: American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider course OR American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider course OR American Red Cross BLS/CPR for Healthcare OR Military Training Network Healthcare Provider (in accordance with the curriculum of the American Heart Association for the BLS for the Healthcare Provider).

The MEPN program accepts students for spring entry.

Financial aid is available. To determine your eligibility, complete the FAFSA form on the university’s Financial Aid website. The College of Nursing also offers general scholarships. In addition, other scholarship and financial aid opportunities are available through The Graduate School and the university’s Financial Aid and Scholarships office.

Eboni Herbert Harris, PhD, APRN, FNP-BC, CNE, is board certified as a family nurse practitioner and nurse educator. She has practiced in a variety of settings including hospice, physical medicine and rehabilitation, urgent care, most recently with special needs populations. She is passionate about student success and mentoring student leaders.
Tawanie Pointer is a Graduate Academic Advisor in the Office of Academic Affairs. She serves as the graduate student advisor for the MEPN program.
