PAT JACKSON
DIRECTOR
CONTINUING EDUCATION AND SPECIAL EVENTS

Patricia Jackson is director of Continuing Education and Special Events at the University of South Carolina School of Journalism and Mass Communications. She has organized and conducted media training for thousands of mid-career professionals during the past 15 years.

As communications training consultant and meeting planner, Jackson has conducted hundreds of workshops for government and business clients from all over the world. All special-event projects of the college are coordinated by the Continuing Education Division.

In June 2004, Jackson was elected to the executive board of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) in Toronto, Canada. IABC is an organization of more than 13,000 business communicators worldwide.

Jackson is a past president of the South Carolina IABC chapter.

Jackson was awarded the 2003 Southern Interscholastic Press Association’s Distinguished Service award for her contributions to the state, regional and national scholastic press associations.

A native of Winston-Salem, N.C., she is married to Bill Jackson. They live in Columbia and have two children and two grandchildren.
