Dr. Ken Haycock
Professor and Director
San José State University
Ken Haycock is professor and director of the School of Library
and Information Science at San José State University. He
has been president of several national and international professional
associations and is currently a member of the council of The American
Library Association and past president of the Association for Library
and Information Science Education. He has received research and
service awards for outstanding contributions from several associations,
including the American and Canadian Library Associations and was
honored by Phi Delta Kappa as one of the leading young educators
in North America.
Dr. Haycock has worked in most library environments, as library
media coordinator for a major city school district, CEO of a regional
public library system, manager of special libraries and on the
review teams for university and college libraries and museums.
He has also been a senior official of a $400m public organization.
As a community member, Ken has been a public library trustee, elected
school board president and municipal councilor. Dr. Haycock was
previously professor and director of the School of Library, Archival
and Information Studies at the University of British Columbia. |
