I feel really confident in taking the GRE now. My instructor was extremely accommodating and I learned so much.
Learn from Anywhere
Learning in our live online course is just like being in a classroom, without traveling to campus. You'll regularly meet your instructor online in a live interactive classroom setting and have access to office hours and an instructor-monitored question forum, in case you have additional questions. The course sessions are recorded so you can review the material from previous sessions up to 120 days after your last scheduled course.
About the Course
Our expert instructors guide you through each section of the GRE exam and provide personal attention in and out of the classroom. Like our GRE prep course that is offered in a classroom setting, this online course includes 24 hours of instruction and covers the same material. You'll also learn useful studying and test-taking strategies to help limit test anxiety.
This class includes a course workbook and the official textbook from ETS containing previously released test questions. Our online support package for both in-person and live online GRE classes includes access to recordings of all class modules, an instructor-monitored question forum, and online office hours. Access to online resources continues through 120 days after your last scheduled class session, so you will still have support for your independent practice after class is over.
The Online Experience
It isn't unusual to have questions about online learning. We've answered some of the most common here for you. If you have additional questions or need more information, you can ask an expert.
The live online course is very similar to the classroom format. We use the same curriculum and materials, and the same proven strategies to help you succeed on the exam. You're able to interact with your instructor in a live setting and participate in the class through the use of online technology.
The live online class uses software called Adobe Connect. This software allows you to view and hear the instructor, share documents, and interact with the instructor and other students. While the instructor uses a microphone, students do not need a microphone or camera to participate. Students can simply type questions and answers into a chat box. Some modules also feature quizzes.
Most online classes are asynchronous, meaning they're pre-recorded or prepared in advance. Students work through the classes at their own pace or are provided with a new module to review on their own each week. Live online classes are led by a live instructor who is there to teach the class and answer questions in real-time; just like in a traditional classroom setting.
All you need to participate in the live online class is access to high speed internet on a computer with speakers (or headphones). Our virtual classroom application is Adobe Connect. Please use this link to run this diagnostic test on the computer you plan to use for the course.
The live online class supports interaction with instructors and other students in many ways. You'll be able to ask questions and make comments using the chat feature. In addition, the course will utilize quiz features that allow you to answer questions. You will also have access to your instructor by phone and email, just as you would in a traditional classroom setting.
The live sessions will be recorded and available for streaming. The streaming video will be available shortly after the scheduled meeting date and will be accessible for 120 days after your last scheduled course.
No. The class includes the same textbook and workbook as the traditional classroom course. Course materials will be shipped to the address provided when you register for our live online course. We recommend registering at least five business days in advance of the course start date to ensure timely delivery of your course materials package. Registering within the five business days of the course start or after the course start? Not a problem. Students will be emailed digital workbook handouts for the class sessions to facilitate participation until their course materials are delivered.
