Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
The financial aid office is dedicated to protecting the privacy rights of all students.
The Family Education Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) requires educational institutions
to limit the release of information to third parties. For the purposes of FERPA, parents
are considered third parties.
Parent Access to Financial Aid Information
For a parent to receive financial aid information for a student's account, we must
authenticate that the parent is the parent listed on the FAFSA or we must have a signed
Permission to Release Financial Aid Information Form on file from the student. The student may also sign this form to designate anyone
they wish to access their financial aid information, but it can also include limitations
on the information provided. Requests for information related to satisfactory academic
progress or academic record information are excluded.
It is important to note that this form only applies to the Office of Student Financial
Aid and Scholarships.
Challenge the conventional. Create the exceptional. No Limits.
