On This Page
Purpose
Earning the Project Leadership and Management Certificate is meaningful. Knowing how to represent it to an employer is a separate skill, and one students need explicit practice developing. This capstone activity bridges the gap between academic achievement and professional self-representation by guiding students through building the actual resume and LinkedIn content they will use in their job search.
It is designed to be delivered in the final course of the certificate sequence, though it can be adapted for any certificate course with appropriate scaffolding. Completion time is approximately 3-4 hours of student work across five structured parts.
Learning Goals
By completing this capstone, students will be able to:
- Identify and articulate the NACE competencies developed through the certificate
- Translate coursework experiences into resume language using action verbs and specific evidence
- Write a LinkedIn About paragraph that connects their credential to a career direction
- Give and receive constructive peer feedback on professional documents
- Reflect on their professional identity and how this credential fits their goals
