Project Vida

What to Expect

Project Vida is a public-health oriented outreach program that makes biweekly visits to two different children's shelters to educate and encourage them to adapt healthy lifestyles. We alternate between visiting St. Lawrence Place, a transitional homeless shelter, and Ezekiel Ministries, an after school program for inner city children. At these visits, we present a short lesson involving the health topic of that day (Hygiene, Exercise, Nutrition etc.) and then facilitate related games, crafts, and activities. Project Vida is always excited to have new members and is a great opportunity for students looking for fun service hours and a way to get more involved in the Columbia community

Associated Student Organization (ASO): student organizations to which the University has delegated certain limited authority to perform specific tasks aligned with the University's mission. These groups are required to maintain a University Advisor who is acting within the context of their university employment.
