DELF (Diplôme d'Etudes en Langue Française)

The Francophone Studies Program offers the DELF B1 and B2 examinations to USC students and the community at large.

The Diplôme d'Études en Langue Française is the official certification awarded by the French Ministry of Education to attest to the competency in the French language. Internationally recognized, the DELF is widely used in business and education.

The exam is composed of four parts assessing the traditional four skills: listening, reading, writing (tested collectively) and speaking (scheduled individually).

Dates and times for the 2024 sessions of collective exams are:

  • DELF B1, Tuesday, April 9, 12:00-2:30 PM & Tuesday, December 10, noon - 2:30 PM
  • DELF B2, Wednesday, April 10, 12:00-2:30 PM & Wednesday, December 11, noon - 2:30 PM

The separate oral interview – roughly 1 hour, including preparation - will be scheduled at a mutually convenient time within ten days of the collective exams.

All exams will be administered on the USC-Columbia campus. They cannot currently be taken online.

Costs for 2023 and 2024 exams:

  • DELF B1: $155
  • DELF B2: $190
