Dr. Cox received her BSN from the Medical University of South Carolina. She earned an MSN from Emory University, majoring in Pediatric Nursing. She completed her doctoral studies at the University of North Carolina’s Arnold School of Public Health, earning a PhD in Health Behavior & Health Education. Dr. Cox is a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner/Pediatric Clinical Specialist.
Dr. Cox teaches in both the graduate and undergraduate nursing programs, Her courses include social and behavioral theory, research methods, and evidence-based practice.
Dr. Cox’s research interests include adolescent risk behaviors, the effects of parenting on risk behaviors, and child & adolescent obesity.
Dr. Cox serves on the USC Institutional Review Board. She is also a Guardian ad Litem for Kershaw County, SC.
Dr. Cox practices at a school-based health clinic at North Central High School, Kershaw County, SC, as well as the USC Palmetto Health Pediatric Endocrinology Healthy Lifestyles Clinic.
