Transportation options for high school graduations May 31-June 8

Lots of visitors expected around Colonial Life Arena; faculty and staff should use caution

Midlands area high schools hold their graduations in Colonial Life Arena starting Friday morning for the next nine days, and people visiting the area may experience more traffic than usual during the summer months.

Students, faculty and staff are asked to exercise patience as they may experience congestion during those days, particularly around the Colonial Life Arena.

The University of South Carolina’s Parking and Transportation Service is providing shuttles for all visitors from the Pendleton and Senate Street garages, both located off Pickens Street. Visitors may only use the metered spaces in the Pendleton Street Garage. Another shuttle pickup will be in front of the Byrnes Building on Sumter Street across from the Horseshoe.

Graduates coming for the ceremonies should ride the shuttle from the Blossom Street Garage at 1300 Blossom St.

Those with disabilities should utilize the designated spaces near Colonial Life Arena in the FS4 lot.

Passenger vehicle traffic will not be allowed on Lincoln Street from College Street to Devine Street, and on Greene Street from Gadsden Street to Park Street.
