UofSC Academic Team wins first tournament of the school year

The Academic Team at UofSC won the Fall Novice Quizbowl Tournament at Georgia Tech on Sept. 21. The team finished with a 10-0 record in a field of 18 teams representing Georgia Tech, the University of Georgia, Emory University, the University of Alabama, Wofford College and more.
The team consisted of UofSC students Andrew Boland, Isak Jatoi and Jasdeep Singh.
At the tournament, teams competed against each other in quizbowl matches similar to a team version of "Jeopardy!" The matches covered topics in science, literature, history, fine arts, etc. This was the team’s first tournament of the 2019-20 school year.
