Student art installation at local studio responds to current events

Students taking an "Intro to 3D Studies" class had the opportunity to produce large-scale work that will be displayed at Stormwater Studios until Oct. 28.

"Home" is an art installation created by Jordan Thompson with fellow sculpture students Tyler Durish, Nate Kiley, D.T., Simone Welch and Binyamen Washington.

The installation is a response to the Amazon rainforest fires.

In an excerpt from his artist's statement, Jordan Thomson says "What is home to you? Is it the structure or the things inside? How much can be stripped away before it no longer feels like home?"

"Earth is home to us all. We are stripping our home naked, leaving it bare and barren. The Amazon rainforest, home to so many, is burning."
