Still No. 1

UofSC graduate programs shine in latest rankings

The University of South Carolina’s Darla Moore School of Business once again claimed the No. 1 ranking for its International MBA program in the latest U.S. News & World Report’s Best Graduate Schools publication.

The new rankings were released Tuesday (March 14) and mark the 28th year in which the International MBA program has been ranked in the top three in the nation. The Moore School’s Professional MBA program also made the list of top graduate programs, ranking No. 16 among all schools and No. 11 among public universities.

In all, USC is home to 47 nationally ranked graduate and undergraduate programs, including 17 in health related fields.

Moore School Dean Peter Brews credits the continued success of the International MBA program to its commitment to immersing students in a globally focused curriculum as well as its focus on both the hard and soft skills needed to compete in world markets.

“It is gratifying that the 2017 U.S. News and World Report ranking has once again recognized the Darla Moore School of Business as our country’s top International MBA program. The Moore School continually innovates our international business programs to prepare students for the challenges and dynamics of international markets today and in the future,” Brews says.

“We are also honored that the efforts of our faculty, staff and students have returned our Professional MBA program to No. 16 in the nation and one of the top programs in the Southeast. This unique multi-location program effectively develops high-impact business leaders and creates a network of strong and growing companies across the Carolinas.”

Several other graduate programs excelled in previously ranked categories in the U.S. News & World Report’s annual guide, including social psychology (4), school library media (5), library and information studies (18), nuclear engineering (20), public health (23) and criminology (25).
