"Sigma Omega Upsilon is open to all majors, which gives it a really great culture. This was really attractive to me as a freshman, and it was compounded by SOU’s focus on international culture, affairs and business. I have served in a variety of leadership roles, most recently as president in the fall. All of the experiences I have had in leadership have provided me with killer resume points and many challenges to overcome. I think it’s really important to challenge yourself throughout college, and I was able to do that in SOU with the support of dozens of other students who cared just as much about the organization as I did.

The most important thing to do during recruitment is to be memorable. Don’t be afraid of being yourself — we’d rather get to know the real you than listen to the things that you think we want to hear. I had no idea what I wanted to do when I joined SOU, and I was intimidated by people I met during recruitment who seemed to have it all figured out in a way I couldn’t comprehend. I still got in because I was given the same advice that I've given you here."
