When students first tour the University of South Carolina, many find themselves enchanted by the historic campus and welcoming community. If
you're planning a future tour, there are a range of ways you can experience campus
whether you plan to visit during the week or on a weekend.
Plan a Weekday Visit
On weekdays, you can schedule a campus tour, academic information session or transfer
information session. Visits are subject to availability and you can check your preferred
dates when registering. Register now »
Learn all about Gamecock life in a 90-minute campus walking tour led by a University
Ambassador. Tours begin with a 20-minute presentation by an Admissions Representative
who will discuss the admissions process, financial aid and scholarships. Campus tours
are offered weekdays at 9 a.m., noon and 2 p.m. with an additional 11 a.m. tour on
Mondays and Fridays. During the summer, tours are offered weekdays at 9 a.m., 11 a.m.
and 2 p.m. Tours during fall, winter or spring breaks may not be available.
Academic Information Session
Investigate academic opportunities available to prospective students through department-specific
information sessions. Sessions are limited when classes are not in session. We recommend
checking for available meeting times before selecting your campus visit day.
Transfer Information Session
College students interested in transferring to UofSC should attend a Transfer Information
Session. Held on Friday afternoons, these sessions cover the transfer application
process and resources available for transfer students. The sessions are the perfect
time to ask questions you may have about the transfer process.
Plan a Weekend Visit
If you'd like to visit over a weekend, we have two tour options: a Saturday open house
or self-guided tour.
On Open House Saturdays, high school seniors and their families come to campus for a fun day of learning
about attending UofSC. Free Open House events are scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
We will be hosting Open Houses on Sept. 21 and Oct. 5.
Self-Guided Walking Tour
If you'd prefer to visit after tour hours or have limited time to visit, consider
our self-guided tour. We'll send you a detailed route around campus so you don't miss
our campus landmarks and the great stories behind them. Just complete a tour request and we'll send you tour instructions.
Prepare for a Better Campus Tour Experience
Check out tour tips for key information about your tour and suggestions for making your visit as fun
and comfortable as possible.
While we do not have a waitlist for our campus tours, same-day standby requests will
be taken. Visitors must be physically present at the Visitor Center to make a standby
request. Standby requests are first-come, first-serve and do not guarantee a space
on a campus tour. If space becomes available, standby visitors will be notified within
the first 15 minutes of the admissions information session. If we are unable to accommodate
your standby request, we will do our best to accommodate you at another tour time.
Your flexibility and patience are greatly appreciated. Please note that visitors are
limited to one tour time when making a standby request.
