Beginning at the same time as new Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs Jennifer Ng, Ashley Dantzler has been promoted to assistant provost for faculty affairs. With more than a decade of experience at the University of South Carolina, Dantzler brings a deep understanding of academic operations and a strong commitment to faculty success.
“What sparked my interest in this role is my extensive experience working at the university since 2011 in various capacities across campus,” said Dantzler. “Earning my Ph.D. from the University of South Carolina has prepared me to take the next step in my career, and I feel ready to contribute to upper leadership within the institution.”
In her new role, Dantzler will lead the development and implementation of a new faculty activity reporting system—an initiative aimed at enhancing transparency and streamlining processes for both annual reviews and promotions. “I am genuinely excited about the opportunity to collaborate closely with the Office of the Provost leadership team,” she said. “This project presents a unique opportunity to support faculty success and institutional excellence.”
Her priorities include working with the faculty affairs team and academic units across campus to ensure a smooth transition to the new system. “I will work to understand existing processes within colleges and schools, and to identify ways our team can provide effective training and support,” she added.
“Dr. Dantzler will be an essential contributor,” said Vice Provost Ng. “Her institutional knowledge, collaborative spirit and data-driven approach make her an ideal person to help guide our faculty affairs strategy and support the academic mission of the university.”
