Sonia Badesha is the new director of the Student Disability Resource Center at the University of South Carolina. Badesha, who began her role June 15, oversees disability-related compliance at South Carolina and facilitates accommodations for students with disabilities on the Columbia and Palmetto College campuses. She also provides training for faculty, staff and the UofSC community.
Badesha has worked in the resource center since 2012, serving as a consultant and advisor on matters of compliance, policy and student accommodations.
Badesha earned her master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling with a focus on psychiatric rehabilitation and her bachelor’s degree in psychology from UofSC. She also maintains an active Certified Rehabilitation Counselor credential.
