Matthew Hinds has been named director of administration for the Department of Student Life. Beginning July 5, Hinds will be responsible for coordinating staff development and training; leading the department’s emergency management planning; and overseeing the marketing and communications, and assessment offices.

Hinds comes to South Carolina from Florida Atlantic University, where he is currently director of administration for the Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management. Previously, he was the associate director for student affairs contracts and assistant to the vice president of student affairs.

Hinds earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Florida Atlantic University and his law degree from Nova Southeastern University.
