Ben Galloway named associate vice president for financial services

Ben Galloway has been selected as the new associate vice president for financial services in the Division of Student Affairs and Academic Support at the University of South Carolina. He'll begin Sept. 18.

Galloway will develop and execute the vision for financial services and lead the team responsible for the operations and administrative systems supporting a staff of over 500 with budgets greater than $100 million. He will oversee a variety of financial management tasks and ensure the accuracy and integrity of the division’s accounting, budgeting and financial records.

“In a field of exceptionally strong candidates, Ben stood out because of his expert knowledge of higher ed finance, his experience in strategic financial planning and his commitment to the responsible stewardship of our students’ investments in the university.” Vice President for Student Affairs and Academic Support Rex Tolliver said. “He’s a terrific addition to our senior leadership team, and I look forward to what we can achieve together.” 

Galloway has more than 10 years of experience in budget forecasting, financial planning and corporate accounting. He currently serves as budget management analyst for the University Budget Office, where he has held responsibilities in budget development, financial reporting, short- and long-term planning, audits and financial analysis.

Galloway earned a master’s in accounting from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, an MBA from The Citadel and a bachelor’s degree from USC. He also holds certifications as a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and Certified Government Finance Officer (CGFO).
