Will Sheppard has been named director of multicultural student affairs for the Division of Student Affairs and Academic Support. In his role, he will lead the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs team, focusing on the strategic vision for the division.

Sheppard has 17 years of experience in higher education, including roles in housing, athletics, admissions, leadership and student programming at Appalachian State University, Winston-Salem University and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. 

Most recently, he served as the founder and director of the black male excellence initiative at Appalachian State University.

Sheppard has a doctorate in education administration from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, a master's in exercise science from the University of South Dakota and  a bachelor's in physical education K-12 from the University of Central Missouri.
