“Growing up surrounded by Christian faith and watching my parents give so much of themselves for our country for over 20 years, I always knew that I wanted to do something similar, not necessarily in the military. I volunteer a lot through my church, we have monthly Service Saturdays where we volunteer at nonprofits in the area, and I help with Sunday Supper each week to give college students a free meal.
“I also volunteered at the free medical clinic for my first two years of college. All the doctors and students are volunteers who are there to learn and grow in a medical environment while serving patients who couldn’t otherwise afford health care. Seeing the good in humanity and how people truly step up to help those in need was a really impactful experience.”
