Bio

Julia Ballou attended University of South Carolina from 2018-2022 and spent her time outside of her studio art courses leading the Carolina Clemson Blood Drive, as well as serving as a University 101 peer leader and senior peer leader for 3 semesters. She is coming home to Preston Residential College for the first time this fall to serve as the Graduate Assistant as she completes her M.Ed. in Higher Education and Student Affairs. 

Julia loves watching movies with her friends, coming up with elaborate themed events to host, and is a huge Gamecock fan. When she’s not at work or in her classes, she loves to go on road trips to cool mountain towns and spend time hiking and exploring. On the weekends, you can find her at Target or exploring the coffee shops and antique stores in Cayce! 

She loves a good conversation and loves an open-door policy to talk to anyone who stops by! Please feel free to talk to her about goats, dogs, music, art, hiking, journaling, and harry potter! She considers herself an artsy nerd and will happily take new music, movie, and show recommendations. She also identifies as a major foodie and will talk your ear off about great restaurants in both Columbia and her hometown Charleston, SC. Come say hello, she is so excited to get to know everyone!
