Preston Residential College

Literature and Arts Society

Our students enrich their community by following their passion for the creative arts and cultivating opportunities for others to do the same.

The Literary and Arts Society hosts a variety of events, including the annual Slam 'n' Jam talent show, and a tour of the Special Collections at the Thomas Cooper Library. The society also helps to create our own literary journal, Bellwether. The group is guided by the Literature and Arts Society Constitution [pdf].

Meet Our Student Leaders

Andrew Williams

Andrew Williams, President

Andrew Williams is a sophomore at the University of South Carolina,
studying Biology. This is his second year at Preston, and he is currently the
President of the Preston Literary and Art Society. When he's not playing
video games or writing poetry, you can find him hanging out with his friends
or wandering into an ancient woodland. Andrew is from Orangeburg, South
Carolina, where he has lived most of his life and can finally leave home by
moving 45 minutes away. Andrew's hobbies include writing, reading,
dungeons and dragons, and producing random factoids at any given
moment. Andrew hopes to graduate from USC in 2026, unless the world
ends.

Challenge the conventional. Create the exceptional. No Limits.
