Event FAQs

When is the 2021 Sustainability Showcase? This year’s Showcase is on Tuesday, October 19th from 11am-2pm. The event will be hosted on Greene Street.
How do I apply to present? We are collecting applications via a Google Form. Please use this link to access the application.
When is my presenter application due? The presenter application is due on October 10th by 11:59pm. You will hear back from us within a few days of that deadline.
What presentation materials should I prepare? We do not have the ability to hang posters. We will provide tables but are asking that you get creative (and sustainable) in your presentation methods. In the past, some presenters have used QR codes for access to virtual resources, displayed slideshows on laptops, or included prop items relevant to their work.
What types of research and projects are welcome? Sustainability-related research/discovery projects include everything in the three pillars of sustainability: economic, environmental, and social. This means that students can present on anything that can be tied back to some element of sustainability.
How is the showcase set up? Tables will be set up around Greene Street and attendees will be coming in and out of the space. Presenters will have a table to set up their presentation materials, and the opportunity to speak with attendees as they come to your table.
I have class during the Showcase but want to present. What should I do? That’s ok! If you can come for any part of the showcase, we still want you to apply.
I’m working on a project that isn’t finished yet. Can I still present? Absolutely! All in-progress work is welcome at the showcase. You do not need to have finished your research to present.
I’m not a STEM student. Can my research be included? Sustainability touches all aspects of our lives, from literature to history, from education to political science. Research and projects in all fields are welcomed and encouraged!
