Originally from Cameroon, Babila B. Samuel obtained his bachelor's degree from the University of Yaoundé 1, in 2015. He immediately began teaching French as a second language and cultural activism in different high schools in Yaoundé. He is a member of the organizing committee of the “African Festival of Emerging Writers”, one of the prominent yearly literary festivals in Central Africa. In 2018, he participated in the poetry project Ashes and Memories, to denounce the atrocities of the Anglophone war in Cameroon. Babila is presently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Comparative Literature at the University of South Carolina. He is interested in Postcolonial literatures, travel literatures and literary theories.
