Andrés López
Originally from Montgomery County, Maryland, Andrés López is a PhD student in the Spanish department. He earned his bachelor's degree in Spanish and Hispanic studies from Hobart College then went on to receive his Master's degree in Spanish Literature from Middlebury College. Through Middlebury, he studied abroad in Madrid for a year followed by a semester in Buenos Aires.
 
His studies focus on Golden Age Spanish literature, reflected in his Master's thesis where he identified metafictional patterns in both books of Don Quijote.
 
Andrés was selected as a Presidential Fellow and also works as a Graduate teaching assistant, having taught SPAN 109, 110 and 121.
