Bio

Background: Dr. Green has been a practicing Family Physician for 21 years. He has been with Greenville Health System/Prisma Health since 2009. He Currently works as a physician and practice chief for Prisma Health Family & Internal Medicine Greenville. He served as the program director for the Prisma Health University of South Carolina Greenville Family Medicine Residency from 2015-019. Dr. Green is also a member of the My Health First Network/Prisma Health Upstate Network Board of Managers and Chairman of the MHFN Laurens/Newberry/ Abbeville Local Steering Committee. Additionally, Dr. Green is the medical director of the Prisma Health Upstate Mobile Health Clinic and the primary care medical director of the GHS Community Paramedicine Program. Since joining GHS he has held a number of medical staff leadership positions at Laurens County Memorial Hospital, Greenville Memorial Hospital and Prisma Health including Medical Director of the GHS Laurens medical campus, Chair of the LCMH Department of Medicine , LCMH Medical Director of Case Management, LCMH Medical Director of the Infection Control Team, and Chief Elect of the LCMH medical staff, the GHS Medical Staff Performance Improvement Committee, the GHS Graduate Medical Education Committee, the GHS Telehealth Infrastructure and Capabilities Committee, and the Prisma Health Primary Care Council. Prior to joining GHS, Dr. Green spent 8 years as a full time faculty at the West Jersey-Memorial Family Practice Residency at Virtua Health where he was also Physician Administrator for the residency based practice. He held a number of medical staff leadership positions while with Virtua Health System as well

A native of New Jersey, Dr. Green is a 1991 graduate of Rutgers University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biological Sciences. He attended The Medical College of Pennsylvania where he earned his medical degree in 1995. Dr. Green did his family medicine training at the West Jersey Family Practice Residency Program where he served as Chief Resident. Following graduation from residency he worked in a solo family practice for 3 years prior to becoming a full time residency faculty at Virtua Health.

Dr. Green enjoys teaching residents and students. His areas of interest include preventive health, population based patient care, geriatrics and inpatient medicine. He is a resident of Simpsonville where he lives with his wife and two sons.
