Welcome Note from Course Director

We welcome you to Greenville, SC to attend the Inaugural one day Multidisciplinary Conference on Advancing Gastrointestinal care through a Multidisciplinary Approach on November 4, 2023, hosted by the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville and Prisma Health.

This is the first event of its kind in the state that unique with focus on basic and advanced therapeutic endoscopy as well as advancing care of complex conditions in a multidisciplinary fashion. This event is ideal for individuals who manage complex malignancies, to complex polyps—at any level—primary care, specialty management, as well as endoscopic and surgical management. 

The course will include extensive live discussions by renowned national and international faculty and emphasize principles of basic oncology/surgery and endoscopy, as well as advanced endoscopic techniques and procedures, in addition to display of endoscopic and surgical innovation.

This activity is intended for primary care physicians, oncologists, endoscopists, gastroenterologists, surgeons, gastroenterology/ surgical residents and fellows, endoscopy nurses and endoscopy technicians.

Objectives:

Upon Completion of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize the expanding role of the interventional gastroenterologist in the care of various gastrointestinal diseases, including malignancies
  • Review updates on recently introduced and upcoming technologies in endoscopic and surgical management of malignant disease
  • Identify the indications and expected outcomes of commonly performed therapeutic endoscopy procedures
  • Recognize Surgical management of metastatic disease
  • Recognize the role of a Liver Transplant program and identify factors that are essential to the success of a new Liver Transplant program
