A Study in Firsts

The USC School of Medicine Greenville was the first U.S. school to integrate EMT training and certification into the first-year curriculum and the first to fully incorporate lifestyle medicine across all four years of the M.D. program, an international model for best practice

 

Pre-Clerkship Education

First Year Curriculum (M1)

Begin your foundational studies of the scientific basis of medicine after completing hands-on EMT training.

Second Year Curriculum (M2)

Continue learning the scientific basis of medicine in an organ-system based approach, focusing on pathophysiological and pathological disease processes, diagnostic testing and imaging and principles of treatment and management.

 

Clerkship Education

Third Year Curriculum (M3)

The third-year curriculum focuses on graduated integrated knowledge and skills to prepare you to start your clerkship years as an active member of the health care delivery team.

 

Post-Clerkship Education

Fourth Year Curriculum (M4)

Identify a residency program interest and choose rotations from a specialty-specific track.
