First Spring Passport Fair set for Feb. 20

UofSC community may get passport paperwork submitted on campus

The University of South Carolina hosts the first of two passport fairs for the spring semester on Wednesday (Feb. 20) in the Golden Spur Gameroom, located in the basement of the Russell House.

The fair is 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., allowing UofSC community members to get their paperwork processed for a passport. To apply, the applicant must bring the following to the fair:

  • Complete passport application DS-11 from the U.S. State Department website, completed online or manually in black ink only and unsigned
  • 2-inch-square color photograph taken within the past six months (photo service is available for $10 payable to UofSC)
  • Original certified long-form birth certificate or other proof of citizenship, not damaged or altered
  • Valid driver’s license or state, military or other federal government-issued ID

The cost for a passport is $110, payable by check or money order only to the U.S. Department of State. For expedited service, add $60 to the cost. The execution fee payable to UofSC is $35 and can be paid by cash, credit or CarolinaCard. If you need a photo taken, add $10 to the UofSC bill.

For more information on passports, visit U.S. State Department website or call (803) 777-3168.

A second passport fair is scheduled for March 27.
