Pastides to deliver 'Last Lecture' April 3

Over the last 20 years, approximately 100 University of South Carolina professors have given talks as if they were their last lectures. On April 3, President Harris Pastides will deliver his.

All UofSC students are invited to the free talk, which will be at 7 p.m. in the Russell House Theater. Seating is limited, so tickets are required. The event will be livestreamed beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The Last Lecture Series is coordinated by Scholars United, the student organization composed of the university's top scholars. Since 1999, the group has asked UofSC professors, "What would you share in a lecture if you knew it were your last?"

This lecture comes at an especially significant time for President Pastides, who has announced he will retire on July 31 after 11 years of leading the university.

The event is sponsored by Scholars United, Phi Beta Kappa Society the Office of Communications and Public Affairs and the Division of Student Affairs and Academic Support.
