Carolina Food Co. named Large Employer of the Year by local organization

Aramark hired more than 20 people in the last year from Babcock

Carolina Food Co., the university’s dining partnership with Aramark, earned the Babcock Center’s Large Employer of the Year award for 2019.

The Babcock Center has pioneered an inclusive and barrier-free community for people with lifelong disabilities for nearly 50 years in the Midlands. Carolina Food has hired more than 20 people from the Babcock Center in the past year and received the award for efforts to promote diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

“Our continued partnership with the Babcock Center is important to the success of Aramark at UofSC,” says food services director Andrea Glantz. “They help us hire hard-working individuals who are dependable each and every day. We greatly value our partnership with them, and we look forward to working with them in the future.”

Carolina Food Co. also earned the honor in 2017 during the first year of Aramark’s contract with the University of South Carolina.
