Deadlines approaching for Leadership and Service Awards

The Leadership and Service Awards recognize outstanding Gamecocks who exemplify leadership or community service. The deadline to nominate a student, organization, faculty or staff member for a Leadership and Service award is 4 p.m. Feb. 12. The deadline to apply for the awards is Feb. 19.

The following awards accept both nominations from faculty and staff and applications from students:
- Strom Thurmond/Steve Cannon Carolina Cares Award for significant contributions to service
- Rosemary Broadway award for off campus students with active involvement in community service
- Wilson-Kibler Bicentennial Award for a student who demonstrates leadership
- Outstanding Woman of the Year for a junior or senior woman who has demonstrated commitment to UofSC
The following awards accept only applications from students:
- Outstanding student volunteer award
- Student Organization award recognizing an outstanding student organization
- Outstanding Student Service Organization recognizes student orgs with quality time and effort devoted to service
- Adviser of the Year recognizing faculty and staff with commitment to student organizations as an adviser
- Please note the adviser must be the adviser on record with the Leadership and Service Center
The following awards accept only nominations from faculty and staff:
- Caroliniana Award for behind-the-scenes senior students
- Jessica Horton Outstanding New Student Leader Award
