UofSC’s The Proving Ground entrepreneurial contest will livestream April 21

The Darla Moore School of Business annual pitch competition, The Proving Ground, will be streamed on Facebook Live at 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 21. Six finalists will compete in the 11th annual event with a chance to win up to $17,500. The competition has moved to a livestreaming format because the University of South Carolina campus is closed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Proving Ground competition is designed to help UofSC students and recent alumni with innovative business concepts begin their entrepreneurial ventures. Formatted similarly to the popular reality TV series “Shark Tank,” The Proving Ground’s original 53 entries this spring went through three rounds of judging by seasoned entrepreneurs, Moore School faculty members and past participants and winners of the competition. Finalists are eligible for prizes in three tracks ranging from $3,000 to $17,500.
