Gamecock iHub, UofSC’s Apple store, opens Friday

The University of South Carolina’s Apple Authorized Campus Store, Gamecock iHub, will open for business Friday (Aug. 13). Faculty and staff are invited to an opening ceremony at 10 a.m. on the Horseshoe near the gates at College and Sumter streets. Afterward, the university community may visit the store on the first floor of the Byrnes Building, 901 Sumter St.
In addition to selling a variety of Apple laptops, iPads and accessories with an educational discount, Gamecock iHub also offers in-house product repair and service for personal Apple computers.
Operated by the retailing department in the College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management, Gamecock iHub is one of only two stores of its kind in the nation managed and operated by students. The retail operation will incorporate experiential learning into its business model by hiring a new cohort of interns each semester.
Gamecock iHub's regular hours will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. More information is available on the store's website.
