VIDEO: Darla Moore School of Business has a new home



The Darla Moore School of Business has a worldwide reputation for the quality of its academic programs. Now it has the facilities to match with the opening of UofSC's most ambitious project to date. 

The $106.5 million dollar building features 35 flexible, state-of-the-art classrooms, a visitor's center and a trading room with stock market ticker boards. A 500-seat auditorium will be used jointly with the School of Music, as both a lecture space and a recital hall. 

The building is on track to become the largest LEED Platinum building in South Carolina.

 

New building facts:

  • $106.5 million cost

  • 251,891 gross square feet

  • 3,900 tons of structural and reinforcing steel

  • 240,000 square feet of metal decking

  • 30,000 shop and field bolts used to affix beams and girders

  • 17,000 cubic yards of concrete
