VIDEO: Pastides updates UofSC family on progress, challenges

In his annual State of the University address, President Harris Pastides praised recent accomplishments — ranging from academics to athletics — but also underscored the importance of a new Carolina ethos focused on access, affordability and degree completion.
The speech on the historic Horseshoe was peppered with updates on the Carolina’s Promise fundraising campaign, record-setting research awards and new economic partnerships to improve the lives of South Carolinians. Looking forward, Pastides said the university must build on existing programs that enable students to tailor their own unique experience at Carolina, including accelerated baccalaureate degree programs.
