Campus Conversation: Austin Coale

"I played team sports all throughout high school and was always fighting off some type of injury. Going to yoga my freshman year, I started to feel better physically, and I could still do a lot of the other exercise I enjoy like running, swimming and lifting weights. I also found yoga to be really relaxing. As someone who tends to stress out a good bit about school, yoga was a great way for me to quiet my mind and take an hour of the day away to relax. It also showed me that I could take an hour out of my day, and my world wouldn't end because of it! However, I think each person does yoga for their own benefits and tailors their yoga to their goals. Some people come for improved flexibility and recovery from workouts, others come for a muscular challenge, and a lot of people come to de-stress and to do a slower workout that focuses on mind and body."
