Your guide to having a super Homecoming Week



Homecoming Week is a campuswide celebration with nightly events, service projects and more for students, faculty, staff and alumni. This year’s Homecoming theme is “The Power of Garnet,” so grab your cape and get ready for this action-packed week.

Here is a day-by-day guide on how to have a super fun Homecoming Week.

Monday

Kick off Homecoming by seeing Greene Street transform into the Comicbook Carnival with food, games and novelty items for students to enjoy from 11 a.m to 2 p.m. 

Later, head to Strom for the Clash of the Gamecocks. Show off your super strength and speed during a variety of games and competitions with your team. There will be chances to win prizes and points towards the Homecoming Cup, so come out from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. and don't forget to bring your A-game.

Finally, relax and watch the Movie at Metropolis on the fields at Strom. Dressing up for "Avengers: Endgame" is encouraged and there will be a contest for the best costume. (Masks may not be worn outside, per city of Columbia ordinance.)

Tuesday

Marvel at the Dynamic Displays that teams create to showcase their artistic talents and school spirit. Unlike a traditional parade, Dynamic Displays will stay stationary on Davis Field from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m for students, faculty, staff and the community to walk through and enjoy. 

Cockstock 2019 will be taking place on at the Colonial Life Arena. Doors will open at 7 p.m. and the show begins at 8 p.m. DJ ElDoggin will hype up the crowd  prior to the headlining performance from A$AP Ferg. Purhcase tickets online so you don’t miss one of the most exciting nights of the semester.

Wednesday

Spurs and Struts is the annual competition at the Convention Center showcasing the dancing talent at UofSC. Stop by from 7 to 9 p.m. to see your fellow Gamecocks strut their stuff.

After, head over to the Russell House Ballroom for some Marvelous Mastermind trivia from 10 to 12 p.m.

Thursday

Celebrate the local heroes/patients of Prisma Health Children’s Hospital-Midlands by decorating capes for them on Greene Street from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will also be a gigantic cape that anyone who walks by can stop and quickly decorate. 

Later in the day, be sure to head over to the Convention Center from 6 to 9 p.m. to see the Annual Homecoming Step Show held by the National Pan-Hellenic Council, which has been displaying this tradition since the early 1970s.

What better way to end the spend the spookiest day of the year than with an evening of thrills. UofSCream will be just that with a haunted house and survivors' party. The event be at Blatt P.E. center and will go from 9 p.m. to midnight. 

Friday

Celebrate the upcoming game with “Calling all Gamecocks” for music, food, and school spirit on Greene Street from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Later, enjoy "Carolina’s Got Talent" on the Russell House Patio from 5 to 7 p.m. Performers will battle it out in a showcase of their various superpowers and unique talents with the intent to win over the crowd and the grand prize. 

Saturday 

Cheer on the Gamecocks as they face off against the Vanderbilt Commodores this Saturday at Williams-Brice Stadium. Celebrate the joy of a 7:30 p.m. kickoff at the Homecoming Tailgate co-sponsored by SAPE on Greene Street beginning at 4:30 p.m.
