Getting around campus will look a little different this fall. Over the summer, the University of South Carolina's Parking and Transportation Services introduced several updates designed to make commuting and navigating campus easier. From expanded parking options and a new shuttle route to an upgraded mobile app, these improvements offer more flexibility and convenience for students, faculty and staff.
Here's what to know about navigating campus before the Fall 2026 semester begins.
A new parking option for commuters
This fall, USC is introducing the Founders Park Permit, a new low-cost option for commuters who don't need access to multiple campus parking lots.
Available for $25 per year, the permit provides parking in the Founders Lot (AD14) and includes access to the new Campus Connector shuttle with stops at a variety of places across campus. The permit is valid only in the Founders Lot and cannot be used in other university parking facilities.
A shuttle that connects campus
Getting around campus is now even easier with the addition of the Campus Connector shuttle.
The new route links Founders Park, Colonial Life Arena and Greene Street near the Thomas Cooper Library, giving commuters a convenient connection to some of the university's busiest destinations. The shuttle will operate every 15 minutes, Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. while classes are in session.
Together, the Founders Park Permit and Campus Connector provide an affordable commuting option for students, faculty and staff.
ParkUSC gets an upgrade
Parking and Transportation Services has also launched ParkUSC+, an enhanced version of the university’s parking app that brings parking, transit and trip planning tools together in one convenient platform.
The updated app offers real-time shuttle tracking, multimodal trip planning and integrated ride-hailing options through Uber, Zipcar and TransLoc.
ParkUSC+ also features "Stay Informed" notifications, helping users stay up to date on lot closures, construction impacts, shuttle service changes, parking updates and event-related restrictions. A new “The Daily” section provides users with daily parking and transportation news, announcements and service updates — all in one place.
Looking ahead, drivers will benefit from enhanced parking availability information as camera technology is introduced across campus in phases. Future updates will include dynamic parking signs designed to improve traffic flow and provide additional guidance during major events.

Whether you're commuting to campus every day or occasionally driving in for class or an event, this fall's transportation updates are designed to give the USC community more flexibility and a smoother experience from arrival to destination.
