Arrive at your building at your scheduled time and date as published in your Official Move-In Guide (mailed in early July). Scheduling is set to prevent traffic jams and long elevator waits. If you arrive outside of your scheduled time, our staff will not allow you to move until your scheduled day and time.
The University Post Office is located at the Russell House, however during move in days (August 14-20) packages should be picked up at 718 Devine Street located near Colonial Life Arena.
Your official move-in parking pass will be emailed and available
to download and print. Details regarding traffic patterns and
important traffic and parking locations for Move-In Days will be
updated to this move-in guide, so make sure to check back here!
Traffic On Campus
USCPD and University Housing understand that students have a lot to move in, however due to parking garages, hills and other obstacles on campus please do not bring large box trucks, trailers, car toppers and recreational vehicels for move in. USCPD and parking attendants will not allow these vehicels into traffic patterens in and around campus on move in day.
Groups bringing multiple cars for move in should bring car one through the unloading process and then find a parking place. Switch your parking tag and bring the second car through the unloading process. Multiple move in vehicel passes will not be issued to any individual student.
Campus has been divided into multiple zones to assist guests and new students with finding their traffic pattern. Your building zone is located on the back page of the move in guide or can be found on the building move in schedule. Once you arrive in the general campus area follow the traffic signs to your building unloading traffic pattern.
As you are approaching campus for move in or after returning for a store visit on move in day. Find out the latest information about traffic, check in wait times and general information about move in.
You can pick up your key at your residence hall on Move-In Day. You
will need your Carolina Card and move in ticket to pick up your keys
and yes, you will have to get your key. Mom and Dad can’t do that
If you arrive to campus after Monday, August 20, you will pick up
your key at the Area Campus Office for your residence hall.
Most residents will be given a key at check-in to access their room.
However, residents of Women’s Quad, Rutledge, Pinckney/Legare,
820 Henderson St. and Patterson Hall will access their room with
their CarolinaCard and a 4-digit PIN. If you live in Women’s Quad,
Rutledge, Pinckney/Legare, 820 Henderson St. or Patterson Hall,
you’ll receive instructions during check-in about how to access your
