School of Visual Art and Design

  • students in a classroom

At the School of Visual Art and Design, in whichever program you choose, you'll be taught by award-winning faculty and have access to our 85,000-square-foot facility designed specifically for the study and creation of the visual and media arts. Explore everything we have to offer.

Our Curriculum

Our curriculum includes four major artistic disciplines: art education, art history, art studio and media arts. Within studio and media arts, students can specialize in everything from drawing and painting to graphic design and new media, from ceramics and printmaking to photography or film and video, and from sculpture to audio and television production at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Our majors can prepare you for work and careers in many fields. We encourage our students to find internships in an area of interest. The Career Center can help you prepare for an internship, and Handshake can help you find an internship in the Columbia area.

Challenge the conventional. Create the exceptional. No Limits.
