Our certificate program will give you specialized, hands-on museum training to complement your other academic studies. We'll use McKissick Museum as a teaching tool to train you to work in one of our nation's rapidly growing institutions.
You're eligible for our certificate program if you are enrolled in a graduate program at the University of South Carolina or if you already hold an M.A. or Ph.D. and are seeking an additional credential.
If you're already enrolled in a University of South Carolina graduate program, you can apply for the certificate program through the Graduate School. Inform the program director, Dr. Lana Burgess that you have applied, as this will alert her to be on the lookout for your application.

As a student in the certificate program, you'll have the opportunity to complete an internship at a museum. You're welcome to pursue an internship anywhere in the nation. If you're already employed at a museum, you'll have the opportunity to work on a specific project or problem within the institution. Recent internships include:
