Scientific and behavioral foundation of the learning and performance of motor skills. Prerequisite: EXSC 223, EXSC 224. CL: 2020.
Notes:
**Course is open to any student who has the prerequisites, EXSC 223, EXSC 224. Course is required for Exercise Science majors. Although not required for Public Health majors, many PH majors take this course.** Understanding how humans learn and perform motor skills is fundamental for anyone interested in physical education, health, wellness and human performance. This course provides students with knowledge of the numerous concepts that underlie learning and performance of motor skills. Students will learn key concepts that underlie learning and performance of motor skills, including concepts related to neurophysiology, muscle physiology, biomechanics, sensory physiology and psychology. Students will be expected to understand the key concepts, analyze how they interact during learning and performance of motor skills, and apply them to real-life situations.
