Scarborough Fellowships

The Center supports up to three $6,000 fellowships per year in honor of Claude Mood Scarborough. The goal of the fellowships is to encourage lawyers and law students to develop initiatives for improving access to justice and professionalism in the practice of law.

Application requirements

  • J.D. or completion of the first year of law school in good academic standing
  • Submission of an individual or team project proposal capable of implementation within one calendar year, including a time line, budget, and evidence of feasibility
  • Evidence of an institutional partnership, such as a letter of reference from the representative of a bar association, court, government agency or other organization that can offer access and assistance in the implementation of the project.
