The School of Medicine is pleased to announce that Larry C. Knott, II, director of facilities planning for the School of Medicine Administration and Facilities Department, is the recipient of the 2017 William C. Gillespie Staff Recognition Award.

Named after William Gillespie, a former employee in the School of Medicine’s finance office, the award recognizes an outstanding staff member at the School of Medicine whose consistently excellent work performance serves as an example for all to emulate. A committee of peer staff members from clinical, research and administrative areas selected Larry as this year’s recipient.

Larry began working for USC’s main campus Facilities Department in 1977. He has been a devoted School of Medicine employee since April 1986. SOM faculty, staff and students have benefited from Larry’s exceptional service to the school. His many responsibilities have included working through various facilities roles including oversight of construction and renovation projects and facility management and planning. He is very deserving as this year’s recipient of the William C. Gillespie Staff Recognition Award.

Larry will receive the award at the 2017 Alumni Awards and Dean’s Awards Dinner which will be held on April 18, 2017 at 6:00 PM at the Hilton Columbia, 924 Senate Street.
