What are you doing professionally now?

  • I am finishing up my last year of pediatric nephrology fellowship at Stanford.

Any personal life updates or big milestones since graduating?

  • I recently got married in September 2023, back in my hometown, Chattanooga, Tennessee. I met my partner, Dr. Omar Sahak, during my residency. He recently finished his child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at Stanford.

Best memory of your time at SOMG?

  • All of the amazing friendships I made during medical school. I did not know anyone when I started medical school and had no idea what to expect. Over time, I developed amazing bonds with some of my classmates and created so many amazing memories. A lot of them attended my wedding!

How did your time at SOMG prepare you for where you are today?

  • My clinical clerkships during my third and fourth year of medical school prepared me tremendously for my pediatric residency program at University of California San Francisco. It was also during medical school where my passion for nephrology ignited. I was even able to work closely with clinical faculty in pediatric nephrology during medical school. My passion for nephrology continued to grow during my residency training and influenced me to apply for pediatric nephrology fellowship.

What person, course, or experience most influenced you while at SOMG?

  • Dr. Mohammed Khalil and Dr. Thomas Nathaniel were and still are my biggest supporters and mentors. They always believed in my success as a physician.

Challenge the conventional. Create the exceptional. No Limits.
