Applications for fall 2026 South Carolina Washington Semester Program now open

The South Carolina Washington Semester Program allows undergraduate students from South Carolina colleges and universities to spend a semester working and taking honors classes in Washington, D.C., gaining valuable experience while earning academic credit toward their degrees.
Program Application Timeline for Fall 2026 Cohort
- Application Deadline: Friday, March 6, by 11 p.m. EST
- Selected candidates will begin virtual interviews on March 22. The interviews will be scheduled between 9:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
- Selected candidates will attend in-person orientation on Sunday, March, 29. Time is TBD.

Sessions are 30 minutes and open to all undergraduate students enrolled in a South Carolina college or university.
- Jan. 30 at 2 p.m.
- Feb. 4 at 12 p.m.
- Feb. 9 at 1 p.m.
- Feb. 18 at 2 p.m.
- Feb. 24 at 2 p.m.
- March 2 at 11 a.m.
- March 5 at 2 p.m.
Washington program scholarship opportunities
- The program allocates scholarship funds for students who demonstrate financial need and awards more than $10,000 each year in scholarships.
- Students can apply for scholarships as part of their overall program application.

- Norton-Young Scholarship: Supports graduates of South Carolina public high schools
