University Associates names new officers

Luther J. Battiste III, an attorney with Johnson, Toal and Battiste, has been elected president of the University of South Carolina’s University Associates for 2015-2016. University Associates is an organization of Midlands area businesses, community and professional leaders who are committed to supporting and promoting the university. Meetings throughout the year feature addresses by key figures at the university and highlight special programs and activities.
Also serving as new University Associates officials: president-elect Susie H. VanHuss, author and former USC faculty member and administrator; vice president J. Read Folline, a senior vice president for wealth management with Merrill Lynch; and secretary/treasurer J. Cantey Heath, Jr., chief of staff and special assistant to university president Harris Pastides.
