Dr. Simon Tarr, Professor of Media Arts, will premiere seven new experimental films as the featured visual component of Rivers Empyrean, a concert series tracing the life cycle of water. The concert series commissioned by Chicago's Fifth House Ensemble will feature the music of many world-renowned contemporary composers, including Pulitzer Prize winner John Luther Adams and Rome Prize winner Dan Visconti. Dr. Tarr's motion picture work recently focuses on interdisciplinary collaborations with symphonies and theater companies across the country.
